Salvation Army Clitheroe.     The state's largest alcohol and drug treatment center.

The Residential Director has little respect for client confidentiality.

The stunning hypocrisy, is evident in the audio of his testimony, given under oath.

  • One client learned she was pregnant while she was in treatment. She didn't want the information shared with her stepmother. That is her legal right as an adult.

  • The Residential Director met with the stepmother, and "shared". Apparently his intention was to tell the parents why their daughter was being expelled. [She was expelled for getting pregnant].
  • The pregnant client was then kicked out.  She was homeless when she was expelled.
  • The client was a mid-20's woman who had been a Psychology major at U.A.A. She was not a "problem client".

Pregnancy status is protected medical information under HIPAA laws (click here). Disclosure of pregnancy status, against the wishes of the pregnant person, is a serious HIPAA violation.
("HIPAA" regulations govern confidentiality at treatment centers.)
